A cruise passenger was arrested by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly punching two children on the Carnival Glory. The man, David Crosby II, 44, faces two counts of child abuse following the incident.
Crosby struck one child in the face and the other in the stomach while on the cruise, according to the probable cause affidavit obtained by People. One child suffered a bloody lip and head pain while the other had stomach pain.
The incident occurred as three children were playing tag in a hallway aboard the Carnival Glory on Sunday, July 26. Crosby was reportedly running through the same area but suddenly stopped and punched two of the children.
Crosby told police that he could not remember the incident because he was heavily intoxicated. The ship’s security cameras captured the incident, according to the affidavit.
The ages of the children and whether they were related to Crosby have not been publicly disclosed.
Crosby was booked into the Brevard County Jail on Monday, July 27, after the Carnival Glory returned to Port Canaveral. He was later released on a $20,000 bond. Court records indicate that Crosby pleaded not guilty during a July 29 appearance. His arraignment is scheduled for August 25.
Carnival has a track record of adults assaulting children on its ships. In March 2026, an Iowa woman punched and broke a teenager’s nose on the Carnival Sunshine. The woman, who was reportedly heavily intoxicated, was not arrested when she disembarked from the cruise and was only apprehended when she surrendered herself six weeks later.
In November 2025, a man attacked a minor aboard the Carnival Mardi Gras in the ship’s teen club. The man and his family disembarked from the cruise early but the man was not arrested until six months after the incident.
