Princess Cruise Passenger Arrested For Possession of Multiple Child Sexual Abuse Videos at Port Everglades

Federal agents arrested Joseph Samuel Doria, age 28, on felony charges related to the possession and transportation of child sexual abuse material (“CSAM”) as he disembarked from the Regal Princess cruise ship in Port Everglades over this past weekend.

The arrest took place at a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) checkpoint at Port Everglades on June 20, 2026. Upon disembarking the Regal Princess, Doria was flagged and referred to a secondary inspection. CBP officers searched his cellphone and discovered multiple illicit images and videos involving the sexual abuse of young children hidden within his device’s “Recently Deleted” folder. The material explicitly depicted the severe sexual abuse of young children, some estimated to be toddlers.

The criminal complaint notes that during questioning by federal agents, Doria made several self-incriminating admissions:

  • He admitted to actively viewing this material, stating he had done so since the age of 13.
  • He confessed to distributing the illicit files online.
  • He revealed that he possesses an additional device at his home in Pittsburgh containing a minimum of 100 more illicit videos and images of the sexual abuse of children.

Following his arrest, Doria was booked into the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail, where he is being held on behalf of the U.S. Marshals Service. His initial court appearance was scheduled for Monday morning, June 22, at the federal courthouse in Fort Lauderdale.

The arrest was covered by the local news, see Local 10 News.
